Late 3-pointer lifts CS Fullerton past UCSB 74-72

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Michael Williams hit a 3-pointer with 32 seconds left and Alex Harris tied a career-high with 22 points as Cal State Fullerton beat UC Santa Barbara 74-72 Saturday night.

Williams finished with 19 points and a career-high eight assists. Marquis Horne added 13 points and Josh Gentry 10 for the Titans, who shot 50 percent from the floor and made 9 of 20 (45 percent) from 3-point range.

Alan Williams’ three-point play with 2:20 to play gave UCSB (12-6, 3-2 Big West) a 70-68. The two teams went scoreless for nearly 2 minutes before Williams’ trey with 32 seconds left. Fullerton (7-12, 2-3) made 3 of 4 free throws in the final 18 seconds to push their lead to 74-70.

Williams led UCSB with 26 points, including a jumper at the buzzer, and nine rebounds. Michael Bryson added 16 points and Kyle Boswell 11. Zalmico Harmon had 10 assists.
