TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Jalan West scored 18 points, including a free throw with 5 seconds left that put the game out of reach, as Northwestern State survived a late scare to knock off Oral Roberts, 87-83 Saturday.

Sabri Thompson hit a 3-pointer with 2:26 left that gave Northwestern State a four-point lead, 84-80, and DeQuan Hicks padded it with a pair of free throws a minute later.

Shawn Glover hit an Oral Roberts 3-pointer to halve the deficit, 86-83, with 1:10 left to play, but missed a 3-point attempt that would have tied the game with 6 seconds left and the Demons got the defensive rebound.

DeQuan Hicks and Brison White scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, for the Demons (7-11, 3-4 Southland).

Glover scored 32 points and Korey Billbury added another 29, both career highs, in leading Oral Roberts (10-10, 4-3).
