A Longview woman was sent to the hospital on Sunday after a tire blowout caused her car to ricochet off a concrete barrier on Interstate 5 near Northeast 99th Street in Vancouver, according to Washington State Patrol.

Authorities said that just before 4 p.m., Amy Ferguson, 30, was driving her 2005 Toyota Scion north on I-5 and had just passed 99th Street when her car’s left front tire blew out. That pulled her car left and into a concrete barrier. The impact caused her car to roll and slide north about 200 feet, according to the patrol.

Ferguson was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where she was in satisfactory condition Sunday evening.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Ferguson was wearing a seat belt, and the patrol said drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
