VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Police in Vancouver, Wash., say a man accused of driving the pickup truck involved in a Jan. 19 double fatal hit-and-run crash has been arrested.

Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said 27-year-old Brandon Smith was arrested Wednesday for investigation of two counts of vehicular homicide, as well as three counts of hit and run injury and one count of evidence tampering.

Kapp says the man turned himself in. The spokeswoman says additional arrests of “individuals who have tampered with evidence or provided false statements” are expected.

Vancouver residents Raisa Mosh and Irina Gardinant died from their injuries. They were crossing Vancouver Mall Drive in a crosswalk. Mosh’s 12-year-old son suffered a broken hand.
