Vermont continues dominance over Hartford, 67-60

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Clancy Rugg led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points as Vermont beat Hartford on the road for the 12th straight time, 67-60 on Wednesday,.

Sandro Carissimo had 11 and Candon Rusin and Brian Voelkel added 10 apiece for Vermont (13-9, 7-1 America East). The Catamounts made 19 of 26 from the free throw line, while the Hawks made 52.4 percent of their 21 attempts.

Yolonzo Moore II scored 17 points for Hartford (10-13, 4-4), while Corban Wroe had 14 and Oren Faulk 10.

Hartford cut it to 61-55 with 1:19 left on a Taylor Dyson basket, but on Vermont’ next possession, Carissimo drove the lane for an insurmountable eight-point lead.

Vermont has now won 23 of the last 25 meetings in the 63 games between the two programs. The teams split last season’s games, as Hartford ended a 15-game losing streak to Vermont.
