Published: January 27, 2014, 4:00pm

The city of Woodland will hold a meet-and-greet reception for police chief candidates from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Woodland’s next top cop will take over for Rob Stephenson, who will officially retire at the end of the month after nearly 30 years with the department.

Stephenson’s departure corresponds with the opening of the new Woodland Police Department, which was unveiled this month.

Thursday’s event will be followed by candidate interviews from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
