BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Javon McCrea scored 20 points as Buffalo cruised past Western Michigan 84-63 on Wednesday.

Shayne Whittington led Western Michigan (11-8, 4-3) with 13 points, while Tucker Haymond and David Brown both had 11 points.

Western Michigan led for the first 6 minutes of the game, but McCrea made five straight baskets, including a dunk, to give Buffalo a lead it never relinquished. The Bison led by 14, 39-25, at the half.

An 8-2 run to open the second half extended Buffalo’s lead to 19 and they were never challenged in the frame.
