A vehicle with Washington license plates reportedly rammed a police car during a pursuit in Milwaukie, Ore., Wednesday evening.

The incident began when a Milwaukie police officer was dispatched at 11:10 p.m. to a fireworks complaint near Ardenwald Elementary School in Milwaukie, Ore.

When arriving in the area, the officer attempted to contact the occupants of a vehicle parked in the area, but the vehicle sped away, according to police.

The vehicle turned into a cul-de-sac where the driver twice rammed the front of the patrol car head-on, police said.

The pursuit continued, but when the vehicle once again turned onto a dead-end street, the vehicle struck a Clackamas County patrol car.

The pursuit ended after police used a tactical driving maneuver in Southeast Portland to stop the vehicle. The 17-year-old driver was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and two passengers were released to their legal guardians.

The incident remains under investigation but police said a criminal complaint is expected to be forwarded to the district attorney’s office.
