Letter: Community well-served by Gardner

One of the blessings of being an educator is witnessing a student I met 30 years ago develop into a dedicated professional absolutely committed to serving his community. After his initial Spanish class, Shane Gardner eventually became a linguistic expert while serving as a Ranger in the U.S. Army.

Recently, we worked with Gardner, current Community Outreach Officer and candidate for Clark County sheriff, on the “Chief for a Day” program where he revealed his compassion and concern for even our youngest citizens. We believe Shane Gardner will continue creating a partnership among the residents of Clark County where he will not only protect but better our community.
