The city of Washougal has released the names of five applicants to fill its vacant council seat.

The candidates are: Morry Secrest, Michelle Wagner, Rosemary Nielson, Michael Lumbard and Jason Dodge.

The position opened in late May, when former councilor Caryn Plinski resigned, announcing that she was preparing to move to a new home outside city limits.

On Monday, the councilors will interview each of the candidates before making a final decision on their pick for the open seat. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Washougal City Hall, 1701 C. St.

Plinski’s replacement will serve through the end of 2015, when voters will pick a councilor to fill the position through 2019.
