PORTLAND — Folks along the Columbia River near Portland International Airport can expect to see and hear more fighter jet flights next week.

The Oregon Air National Guard’s 142nd Fighter Wing based at the airport will host F-18 Hornets from Lemoore Naval Air Station, Calif., for training.

Flights will launch daily from 7 a.m. and will conclude by 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The training will allow Oregon Air National Guard pilots, who fly F-15 Eagles, to practice against dissimilar aircraft, according to a news release.
