Letter: Invasions should not be supported

The rebels in Syria are the guilty party. They have no right to use military force against the Syrian government and are essentially launching a criminal invasion. They are supported by nations outside of Syria that have a track record of supporting mass murder. There are areas where the Syrian government needs improvement, but Syria is far better than most of its neighbors, especially Saudi Arabia.

A supporter of the Syrian rebels is Saudi Arabia, and France is also a supporter. The same nations were the main supporters of Saddam Hussein during the absolutely criminal Iraqi invasion of Iran, which killed many innocent people. The U.S. also supported Hussein’s killing machine to some degree and has supported the Syrian rebels.

After having fought against criminal invasions during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, it is astounding that the U.S. has decayed to where it now supports them. American values are getting kicked aside as abortion, the gay lifestyle, porn, and European values become accepted. The U.S. is losing its Puritan heritage. U.S. officials should be willing to prosecute their own crooks, and take a stand against nations that have blatantly criminal foreign policies.
