Two arrested after car vandalism incidents

Police arrested two people after investigating multiple car vandalisms in the Lincoln neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

A Vancouver police officer was flagged down by a citizen shortly pastmidnight Tuesday after witnessing two people kicking vehicles near West 39th Street and Grant Street.

The officer found at least three vehicles with dents in the doors and quarter panels and one vehicle with a smashed window, said Vancouver Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

The witness gave the officer a description of the suspects. Around 2 a.m. Wednesday, a BNSF Railway police officer spotted two males that matched the description near West 39th Street and Fruit Valley Road, Kapp said.

The two males, Rodney T. Franck, 21, of Vancouver and a 17-year-old Vancouver man whose name was not released, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree malicious mischief and vehicle prowling.

Kapp said that there may be more people in the Lincoln and Fruit Valley neighborhoods who find their car damaged and asked that those people call the agency’s west precinct, 360-487-7355.
