Horse trailer comes unhitched, horses walk home

A horse trailer with two horses on board came unhitched from the truck pulling it at 3 p.m. Saturday. The accident occurred northeast of Battle Ground in the 22700 block of 182nd Avenue.

The trailer landed in a roadside ditch, but there were only minor injuries to the two horses on board, according to Fire District no. 3, which responded. There were no injuries to the occupants of the truck.

Fire District 3 personnel assisted with off-loading the horses, who were able to walk home with the assistance of the owners. Northeast 182nd Avenue was closed temporarily.
