SEATTLE — Firefighters have rescued a man from the awning of a downtown Seattle store.

Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore says the man had a leg injury and had to be lifted off the 15-foot high awning in a basket. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center about 6 a.m. Wednesday in stable condition.

Observers told KOMO the man had apparently fallen onto the awning from a ledge higher up on the exterior of the Banana Republic store, but it’s not clear what he was doing up there.
