Letter: Oil debate is opportunity to lead

The Columbian
Published: June 9, 2014, 5:00pm

Where is leadership? At the beginning of the oil terminal hearing before Vancouver City Council, we heard from our previous mayor, Royce Pollard. The man has the heart of a lion. “Defend Vancouver families.”

This is a time for current Mayor Tim Leavitt to stand up and be counted. Stop the Tesoro train wreck. Do not make Vancouver U.S.A. Big Oil’s toilet. Stand up Mayor Tim Leavitt. This is a defining moment for you. Are you the man to lead Vancouver, U.S.A.? Now prove it.
