B.G. school district serves free meals for kids 1 to 18

BATTLE GROUND — Battle Ground Public Schools is sponsoring the Simplified Summer Food Program June 23 through Aug. 15. Meals will be available to all children from 1 to 18 years old. There is no charge for the meals. People older than 18 will not receive meals. For details call 360-885-6357.

This is a U.S. Department of Agriculture program offered in many communities to ensure that children who otherwise might go hungry during the summer will have access to lunch.

o Kiwanis Park, 422 S.W. Second Ave., Battle Ground: Lunch only, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 23 through Aug. 15.

o Maple Grove K-8 School, 610 B S.W. Eaton Blvd., Battle Ground: Breakfast from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and lunch from noon to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 7 through Aug. 15.
