Event raises money for VPS library program

Vancouver Education Association and Barnes & Noble are supporting libraries of Vancouver Public Schools with Read Across America events and a fundraiser.

District schools will offer student presentations and artwork from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 5 to 8:45 p.m. Friday at the Vancouver Barnes & Noble, 7700 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd. In addition, Superintendent Steve Webb will read a story at 5 p.m. Thursday. Barry Deutsch, author and graphic artist, will draw and sign books from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday.

Visit any Barnes & Noble bookstore or BN.COM/bookfairs Thursday through March 12 to support Vancouver Public Schools and literature. Twenty to 25 percent of all supporter purchases will be donated to school district libraries; enter Bookfair ID 11253952 (on voucher) at checkout. Cafe purchases also count.
