Shorty’s Garden and Home, 10006 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., will host its annual St. Paddy’s weekend events Friday evening and during the day on March 15. The Friday night event is a 21-and-up fundraiser for the Parks Foundation of Clark County, and the Saturday daytime event is a freebie for the kids.

At St. Paddy’s for Parks, you can enjoy Irish food, music and festivities in a heated outdoor space. Five Guys Named Moe, the Vancouver Firefighters Pipes and Drums and the Molly Malone Dancers will all perform.

Tickets, which get you a token for one adult beverage, are $20 in advance through parksfoundation.us or $25 at the door. The event begins at 5 p.m. Friday, March 14.

The following morning it’s St. Paddy’s for Kids, which is free. Upon arrival children will be provided a Pot O’ Gold Passport directing them to numerous activities, including a cooking demonstration, candle making, board breaking, fishing lessons, face paining, dance lessons and more. Each kid will fish a prize out of the Pot O’ Gold in the end. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. only.

Both events are co-hosted by Shorty’s nursery and the Parks Foundation, a nonprofit agency that collects and administers tax-deductible donations for local parks and recreation projects and programs. Learn more at parksfoundation.us.
