A free event aimed at promoting early and regular oral health care is coming to Portland next month.

The Celebration of Smiles is 4 to 8 p.m. April 4 at Portland Children’s Museum, 4015 S.W. Canyon Road.

At the event, children can fish for tooth prizes, make tooth pillows, paint teeth made from clay and brush Wally Gator’s teeth, among other activities. The Tooth Fairy and Mr. Molarnator will also be on hand for photos.

The Celebration of Smiles is a student-organized event sponsored by Oregon Health & Science University’s School of Dentistry, Portland Children’s Museum and local dental societies. Colgate is donating toothpaste.
