OLYMPIA — Washington state parks will be free on Wednesday to celebrate the 101st birthday of state parks.

It’s one of 12 days this year when visitors are not required to display a Discover Pass to visit a state park. Visitors still need a Sno-park permit for winter recreation sites and they would have to pay for camping overnight.
