UPDATE: Vancouver police reported at 1:39 p.m. that Kyle Howell was found safe and would be reunited with his family.

The original story follows.

Police are asking for help in locating a Vancouver man with autism who was reported missing Tuesday nights.

Kyle Howell, 21, was last seen at his home in the 9500 block of Northeast Fifth Street about 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Howell is autistic and has some decreased developmental capacity, according to Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp. Howell’s family said that he regularly takes long walks but became concerned when he did not return home by the evening. They notified police that he was missing at 11 p.m.

Officers searched the area overnight and into the morning, but have not located Howell, Kapp said.

Howell is described as 5-feet10-inches tall, 160 pounds, a shaved head with a small bald spot, hazel eyes and possibly wearing a tan Columbia jacket.

Anyone with information on Howell’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
