A rear-end collision on state Highway 14 in Washougal Friday morning sent a Washougal man to hospital.

Dennis D. Marlon, 34, was stopped at a red light on the westbound highway in his Pontiac Grand Am, where the highway intersects with Washougal River Road. When the light turned green, he entered the intersection and was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Aveo driven by Emily A. Hoyt, 17, of Vancouver, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash was reported at 11:29 a.m.

Marlon was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. He was also cited by the State Patrol for driving with a suspended license.

Troopers said Hoyt wasn’t paying attention and cited her for following too closely.
