Early morning police activity in the Covington neighborhood resulted in the arrest of three Vancouver men Thursday morning, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office Safe Streets Gang Task Force, with assistance from the Southwest Washington SWAT Team, served two search warrants at about 5 a.m. The two addresses searched were 10805 N.E. 67th St. and 6704 N.E. 108th Ave. During the incident, law enforcement used “flash bangs” as a distraction.

The warrants are tied to an investigation into an assault that involved a gun on New Year’s Eve, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hector A. Nunez, 24, and Juan R. Granillo Jr., 22, were arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and David J. Oster, 31, was arrested on suspicion of rendering criminal assistance, according to the sheriff’s office.

No other information was immediately available.
