Clark baseball sweeps Southwestern Oregon

Travis Eckert pitched a two-hit shutout as the Clark College baseball team swept a doubleheader against Southwestern Oregon at Coos Bay on Friday.

Eckert (8-1) lowered his ERA to 0.70 with a 1-0 victory. He struck out five with no walks.

Michael Gonzales’ RBI single in the sixth inning scored the game’s only run.

Clark completed the sweep with a 5-3 win in the second game.

Spencer Ramsey’s three-run double in the fifth highlighted the game for the Penguins (15-7, 25-11).

Clark hosts Mt. Hood at 1 p.m. Saturday in its final regular-season home games, which is also “Honor our Veterans Day” at Kindsfather Field.
