The Union Titans and Columbia River Chieftains did not get to play a single game in their respective district baseball tournaments this week.

They were rewarded, though, for their excellence throughout the regular season.

Rain cancelled the championship games of the 4A and 3A district tournaments Thursday at Propstra Stadium.

Officials opted instead to award the top seeds to next week’s bi-district tournament to the first-place teams from the regular season.

Union won the Class 4A Greater St. Helens League, and Columbia River won the 3A GSHL.

Union was scheduled to play Battle Ground in the 4A title game. The Tigers will get the No. 2 seed from the 4A GSHL. Battle Ground beat Skyview on Wednesday to advance to the finals, leaving Skyview as the No. 3 seed.

Columbia River was going to take on Mountain View in the 3A title game. The Thunder now will get the No. 2 seed. Mountain View beat Prairie on Wednesday, leaving Prairie as the No. 3 seed.
