Two Vancouver residents were injured Monday in Longview in a collision that killed a Toutle man and a Longview man.

The head-on collision happened around 10 p.m., when police say a 1991 Honda Civic heading west on Industrial Way passed two vehicles in a no-passing zone, lost control and collided with an eastbound 2000 Ford Mustang.

The occupants of the Civic — Dakota J. Jenson, 20, of Toutle and Jose A. Vega-Lee, 20, of Longview — died in the crash. The occupants of the Mustang — Daniel S. Wagner, 18, and Samuel K. Wagner, 27, both of Vancouver — were injured in the crash and taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview. Samuel Wagner was treated and released, and Daniel Wagner was listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday.

Longview police obtained a search warrant for Daniel Wagner’s blood as part of the investigation. At this time, it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor to the collision, police said.

Industrial Way was closed for about four hours during the crash investigation.
