BRUSH PRAIRIE — Silver Buckle Ranch in Brush Prairie looks to honor local heroes, including veterans, first responders and military families, with a day of festivities from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Local heroes will make appearances at the Hope for Heroes Open House at the ranch, 11611 N.E. 152nd Ave. Battle Ground police officers Clint Fraser and Chris Couch, along with police dog Haulf, will be there. Other guests include the Patriot Guard Riders, the Red Cross and Clark County Fire District 3.

There will be horse rides, train rides and a chance to meet the ranch ponies, Buttons and Boomer. Silver Buckle will also serve a free barbecue meal. Anyone who attends can learn more about the nonprofit ranch’s equine activities and programs offered to local youth.
