Meadow Homes — H.D. Weddel, a 1975 graduate of Fort Vancouver High School, was named Oregon Principal of the Year in late April. He’s the principal of Bend High School. According to The Bend Bulletin, he is retiring at the end of this school year and will become chaplain with the Oregon State University football team in Corvallis. He was quoted in the Bulletin saying: “No one gets in this job to get awards; no one gets in this job to climb the ladder. People get in this job because they love kids.”
