Job training subject of event for nonprofits

The Columbian

Representatives of nonprofit and social service agencies with clients in need of job training and other related services are invited to a free Workforce Connections event June 11.

The free event will offer local resources that help social service agency clients build work-readiness skills, get jobs and continue with on-the-job training.

The Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council, WorkSource and other local partners that provide such resources will offer information on what they do, and how local nonprofits and their clients can get their help.

The event is set for 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Educational Service District 112, 2500 N.E. 65th Ave., Vancouver. Light refreshments will be served. Register by June 2 with Julia Maglione, jmaglione@swwdc.org or 360-567-3176.

A second event is set for 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 12 at the Cowlitz PUD Auditorium, 961 12th Ave., Longview. Registration information is the same. Learn more at www.swwdc.org.
