West Minnehaha — Local veterans observed a major milestone on April 26 when the American Legion’s Smith-Reynolds Post 14 celebrated its 90th anniversary.

Post Commander Brian Brown said that local author Pat Jollota provided some background on the American Legion’s role in Vancouver history.

The event included a display of archive documents, photographs and newspapers. They offered a look back at the era when the American Legion was started by veterans of World War I.
