North Salmon Creek — The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra has received a $5,000 grant from Umpqua Bank to support its annual 45-minute Young People’s Concerts, held every spring in Skyview High School’s auditorium. This year’s concerts are set for Friday morning and will be conducted by the always-charming Maestro Salvador Brotons. The concerts aim to introduce children, ages 6-12, to classical music and instruments. These concerts are not ticketed and open to the public — they’re for school groups only.
