SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A Marion County sheriff’s spokesman says a 14-year-old boy accused of threatening to blow up his Salem, Oregon, school has been arrested and booked into juvenile detention.

Sgt. Chris Baldridge says deputies learned of the reported threat on Wednesday from staff at the Oasis Brooks Program, who said the boy had become upset with teachers.

Deputies who questioned the boy at home say he told them school staff had made him angry so he threatened to build a bomb and blow up the school.

A search of the home turned up no bombs or bomb-making materials.

The boy was booked for investigation of menacing, disorderly conduct and harassment.
