Karen Holterhoff has been appointed to the board of directors of the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes, based in Vancouver. Holterhoff is director of the KMR Group Foundation, which encourages good nutrition, good health and a love of learning in students.

Steve Grimes, who owns five Honest-1 Auto Care centers in the greater Portland area, opened his first center in Vancouver on May 19 at 316 S.E. 123rd Ave. Honest-1 is a national full-service auto care company. * www.honest-1.com.

• Davidson and Associates Insurance of Vancouver has earned a President’s Award from Safeco Insurance for outstanding performance. Only 200 President’s Awards were given this year across the country to top-performing independent insurance agencies that sell Safeco Insurance personal lines products. Davidson has served local businesses and individuals since 1990. This is the second year Davidson has won the award.
