Northwest Pipe Co. reports net sales, profit increases

Vancouver-based Northwest Pipe Co. on Monday reported a third-quarter profit of $5.02 million. That compares with a profit of $1.01 million in the July-to-September period in 2013. The company, which manufactures steel pipe primarily for drinking water systems, posted net sales of $116.50 million. That’s up 48 percent from net sales of $78.52 million in the year-ago period.

Northwest Pipe’s stock, which trades as NWPX on the Nasdaq, closed down 65 cents Monday, at $35.13 per share.
