Vancouver launching assistance program for small firms

Vancouver’s Community and Economic Development Department is soliciting for proposals from nonprofit organizations to implement a new Small Business Assistance Program. The program will provide technical assistance and support services to owners of Vancouver-based small businesses and people developing small businesses.

Application information is available on the Builders Exchange of Washington website, http://bxwa.com. Click on posted projects, then the Goods and Services link, and finally the City of Vancouver Goods & Services link. The program is described under “Request for Proposals (RFP) #47-14.” Proposals are due Dec. 3.

The city expects to launch the Small Business Assistance Program in early 2015. The program will be funded through December 2015 with $110,000 from the Community Development Block Grant program.
