Vancouver and the state Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Services are about to launch a one-stop shop for city and state business licensing.

Beginning Nov. 17, customers will be able to apply for, renew and pay for both licenses online at http://bls.dor.wa.gov/file.aspx. Online payments using credit/debit cards and electronic checks will be accepted. The state will also accept applications, renewals and payments by mail.

The state revenue department, rather than the city, will mail business license renewal reminders and approved licenses to customers starting Nov. 17. Vancouver will continue to review and approve the license applications, and it will also process special licenses and home occupation permits.

For information, call the city at 360-487-8410, menu item 3, for more information before Nov. 17. After that date, call the state’s Business Licensing Service, 800-451-7985.
