In a Nov. 3 letter “A push right gets us back on track,” Roy Schimelpfenig signed the letter stating that he was from Woodland, but the way he was rewriting history, I strongly suspect he may be from Texas. His major rant was about how unpatriotic this president is, and how those of us who voted for him are somehow socialists living in our “far-left utopian” free country.
I really enjoyed how everything from our border security to Ebola was somehow President Obama’s fault. I am not sure if Schimelpfenig wears bifocals but, by reviewing history that has been clearly documented, most of the events that he blames Obama for were created by the right that he hopes we get pushed back to. Fast and Furious was established under the Bush administration, as was the mess that we now encounter all over the Middle East due to destabilization by an oil war that only benefited a slim minority. As for border security, health care and the IRS, those problems have been with us for decades.
It’s obvious that Schimelpfenig loves the country and the Constitution. I’m guessing that he is happy the Republican Party won big this election cycle. Two more years of gridlock on top of the worst Congress in American history may finally shake Americans enough to cast off this party for being the poor historians they are.
