Sex offender update
A level III sex offender, among the group considered most likely to re-offend, has moved to Vancouver’s West Minnehaha neighborhood.
Robert Stanley David Bergen, 88, recently informed the Clark County Sheriff’s Office that he’s living in the 2500 block of Northeast 45th Street. Bergen has convictions that date back to 1947; the crimes include showing children pornography, fondling children, rape and attempted rape, according to the sheriff’s office.
His most recent conviction in 1997 was communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. The sheriff’s office said that Bergen touched the penis of a 13-year-old boy he didn’t know, showed the boy pornography and attempted oral sex on him.
Bergen is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 153 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He does not have any known vehicles.
