Letter: Break is inopportune

The Columbian
Published: October 2, 2014, 5:00pm

Shameful. Absolutely shameful. The United States Congress recessing until after the November election six weeks away. Why return home? To campaign for their own re-election in order to continue doing nothing except obstructing everything positive or even debating the war on the Islamic State.

What would employers do if their employees worked only 14 percent of the time? What shall we the people do to protest their dereliction of duty? Pure and simple. Vote them, especially incumbent Republicans, out of office.
