SPOKANE — State wildlife officials have decided to trap a female wolf in northeast Washington that has become too friendly with dogs.

Officials fear the wolf may breed with a dog this winter. So the state Wolf Advisory Group decided last week to move it to the Wolf Haven International sanctuary at Tenino in Western Washington.

The Spokesman-Review reports the wolf was fitted with a radio collar in July 2013 and was part of the Ruby Creek Pack in Pend Oreille County.

Wildlife officials say she has become too comfortable around homes and dogs.
