The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.
In June, the Nursing Assistant Program amended a statement of charges against registered nursing assistant Lemuel Magro Riano, adding allegations of sexual contact with a resident at an adult family home where he worked.
In June, the Chemical Dependency Professional Program ended probation for chemical dependency professional and chemical dependency professional trainee Nicholas M.T. Crapser.
In June, the Medical Commission entered into an agreement with physician Richard D. Knowles that places him on probation for at least three years and restricts his ability to prescribe or possess steroids. He must also complete an ethics course and pay a $5,000 fine. Knowles didn’t meet the standard of care in prescribing testosterone and human growth hormone to multiple patients, including several with histories of weight training and bodybuilding.
