A man appeared in Clark County Superior Court on Monday on suspicion of attempting to rob two employees outside a Dairy Queen in Vancouver.
Andrew Lee Johnson, 24, of Vancouver is accused of threatening two employees with a folding knife outside the restaurant at 10507 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., near the intersection of Northeast Coxley Road. He allegedly attempted to take one employee’s car keys.
Judge Scott Collier held Johnson in lieu of $50,000 bail and appointed Vancouver attorney Sean Downs to defend him. He is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 17 on charges of attempted first-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
Vancouver police responded to a 911 call from the restaurant just before 8 p.m. Sunday.
The robber approached employee Montie Miller, displayed a folding knife and threatened to harm Miller, according to a court affidavit by Vancouver police Officer Brian Schaffer.
