SHORELINE — Harborview Medical Center in Seattle says it is willing to receive U.S. patients who are evacuated from West Africa for treatment of Ebola.

The state Department of Health said Monday there are no patients with Ebola in Washington and no plans to evacuate patients to the region in the near future.

The agency says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention put out a request last week to find hospitals that could treat U.S. health care workers and others who are infected with Ebola, if needed.

Dr. Timothy Dellit of Harborview says the hospital is willing to consider it, depending on the hospital’s capacity and its ability to maintain other critical services.

A state health official says Harborview and others have safety precautions in place if someone with Ebola is brought in for treatment.
