Car hits horse on highway near Ephrata

EPHRATA — A car hit a horse in the roadway early Tuesday on Highway 28 near Ephrata.

The Washington State Patrol says a 17-year-old Soap Lake girl who was a passenger in the car was injured and taken to Columbia Basin Hospital.

The 20-year-old Soap Lake woman driving the car did not require hospital treatment for her injuries.

The patrol says the horse was killed and the car, a 2003 Cadillac CTS, was totaled in the collision at 12:43 a.m. two miles east of Ephrata.
