Car collides with Oregon log truck; 2 killed

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says a Sutherlin couple died when a Toyota Corolla collided with a log truck.

The crash happened Monday afternoon on Nonpareil Road in Sutherlin.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Corolla driven by 50-year-old Todd Gilman veered into the oncoming lane and struck the fully loaded log truck.

Gilman and his wife, Tina Gilman, died at the scene. The truck driver was taken to a Roseburg hospital.

The sheriff’s office says both vehicles were going about 55 mph.
