A 25-year-old Portland man has been indicted on allegations of rape and sexual abuse after police say he had sex with a Vancouver girl he’d met on an online dating website who maintained she was 19 when she was really 14.

Vancouver police located the girl with Jonathan Michael Lapp at his Southeast Portland apartment on Oct. 10, according to court records.

Lapp told police they communicated online and agreed to meet at Jantzen Beach. From there, they took a bus to his Portland apartment, according to court records.

Lapp Tuesday morning pleaded not guilty to three counts of third-degree rape, three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, and one count of third-degree sodomy.

Lapp has no prior criminal convictions. Court records indicate he suffers from post-traumatic stress, depression and anxiety and receives counseling.

He’s being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center.
