Vancouver native Tim Stanfill is among 35 players named to the national men’s rugby team roster for a tour that begins with a Nov. 1 match against the most successful team in the sport.

The USA Eagles take on the New Zealand All Blacks on Nov. 1 in Chicago. The tour includes matches in Romania, England and France.

“It’s very exciting. At the same time it’s a week away,” Stanfill said adding that his focus is on his job and preparing to be gone for a month.

An Evergreen High School and Central Washington University graduate, Stanfill works as a personal trainer at Pro Sports Club in Bellevue and plays for the Seattle Saracens rugby club.

Stanfill scored four tries in two starts for the USA during the Americas Rugby Championships which were played last week in British Columbia. The USA Eagles lost to Argentina, beat Canada A and beat Uruguay. Also selected for the November tour, was Troy Hall, a native of New Zealand who works for Rugby Oregon.
