A fire that ignited at a Ridgefield house Saturday is being investigated as an arson, according to the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.

The first firefighters on scene reported flames that extended into the attic of the house, 3403 N.W. 209th St. The fire was reported to 911 shortly after 10 p.m., and Clark County Fire & Rescue responded.

The building, an 800-square-foot single-story house built in 1945, was unoccupied at the time of the blaze, said Deputy Fire Marshal Curtis Eavenson.

Eavenson estimated that the damage to the structure and its contents was $50,000.

“We do not have any suspect information at this time but we are working to develop some,” Eavenson said.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Eavenson at 397-2186, ext. 3320.
