BEND, Ore. — A hearing officer for the city of Bend has approved OSU-Cascades’ plans to develop a four-year campus in Bend.

The official said Tuesday the university’s proposal can meet building code requirements.

The Bulletin reports opponents with the group Truth In Site have 12 days to file an appeal with the City Council. They say the development could overwhelm traffic and housing in the area.

The university plans for a 10-acre development to serve up to 1,900 students.
